Why this sleeve?
Handcrafted and branded with the Smithey logo over high-grade oil-tanned leather, this skillet sleeve is one of our favorite tools. The extended fit slides perfectly over the handle of the No. 8 & No. 10 Chef skillets, both No. 10 and No. 12 Flat Tops, and the No. 11 Deep Skillet. Like cast iron, these sleeves get better with time and use.

No, our sleeves are not sized to fit our carbon steel cookware.
Can I place the sleeve in the oven?
We do not recommend placing your leather sleeve in the oven. As leather is a natural material, it can burn.

Nice sleeve
I’ve only used it once. I am liking it so far. My initial impression it that I like it more than the silicone version, as it stays firm and doesn’t feel slippery like the silicone when it heats up.

This is fantastic -- looks great, and is fun to use. I never have to remember an oven mitt or towel. I just remove the sleeve when I clean the pan and pop it back on when I am done, and it's ready to keep my hand safe for the next round of cooking something delicious!

Leather sleeve is a real plus!
It worked fantastic when I picked up skillet with no problem! However, when I picked up skillet to pour out most of the oil in order to make gravy , I grabbed a hot pad! The whole package, skillet + leather sleeve is first class in my kitchen!!
